NOVEMBER COLOR STORY

Eclatante Event Design and Beautiful Blooms announce a great new joint project – monthly color stories.

And the first in line is …

November Color Story

Plum (and Turquoise and Green) Crazy

There’s no use fighting it with pastels – November was created for great rich and interesting colors.   And lately, we’ve been craving plums.   So Eclatante imagined a wonderful color palette and designed a fantasy table party perfectly suited for a cool and brilliant November celebration.

After creating our color palette,

we came up with our inspiration board:

Once we lined up the perfect home for our photo shoot – the classically modern F.U.E.L. House in Philadelphia — Eclatante could start the design process in earnest.

Our first idea was to design widthwise table runners to be made out of paper.   Our dear and talented friends at Two Paper Dolls created these awesome paisley table runners (with color-opposing table numbers) that were perfectly matched with the gorgeous plum linens we found at Wild Flower Linens.    We found just the right coordinating glass chargers and tinted flutes at Party Rentals Ltd.    The masters at VU-Events flawlessly executed our drapery and lighting design.

Finally, Beautiful Blooms’ amazing floral design: The centerpiece of the table is a vintage green glass container with a dome design of sterling roses intertwined with a cage of plum calla lilies. Green glass rectangle vases are filled with a pave of purple anemones and aqua glass bud vases filled with stems of magenta phalenopsis orchids.   Every napkin is accented with a single orchid bloom.

We were thrilled when Feastivities came up with the perfect entrée for a fabulous November party — pan-seared duck breast with olives, braised plum tomatoes and grilled asparagus.  YUM.

And the whole thing was expertly captured by the amazing photographer – Marie Labbancz.   She is such a genius!

Roseann & Paal (Part 1)

I’m taking a page from Marie Labbancz’s playbook and presenting this absolutely incredible wedding in stages.    Marie did a phenomenal job shooting this wedding.   The couple was so beautiful, so in love and just a BLAST to work with.  We had a great year putting this wedding together with them.  And before the night was up, we learned that their friends and family were every bit as much fun as they are!   Truly — a great time was had by all!

Before we get into the details, I want you to see what the happiest woman alive looks like:

So, here’s how it all started.   Beautiful Elum invitations — have you ever touched one of these invitations? They are amazing,   The paper is just incredible.

We had really cool booklets created for the out-of-towners with maps with all the fun wedding weekend locations.  And of course, Eclatante’s famous wedding weekend itinerary (which is always the source of some humor!) were handed out to the wedding party.

Now, the dress — well, getting dressed anyway.   Roseann had a team of people who  lovingly helped her prepare for her fabulous day.  Along with her mom (I so miss Rosemary!), there was Cindi from The Bridal Garden who helped Roseann step into her gown and the amazing Claudia Seyler whose hair & makeup artistry was nothing short of gorgeous.  Everything was perfect – including the magnificent Monique Lhuillier gown with a spectacular over-skirt for the classic and beautifully traditional ceremony to be removed once the couple arrived at the very hip F.U.E.L. House.

Did I mention the shoes?   AWESOME copper Manolo Blahniks that Roseann pulled out of their box and stared at every day for months.

Roseann was blessed to be surrounded by a truly wonderful mom, fantastic friends and a team of people who just adore her!   The start of a perfect day began.

Of course, the rain was simply unreal that day.   But you will see that the rain couldn’t put a dent in this amazing day.  Stay tuned for more of Roseann & Paal.

Remember our hurricane wedding we wrote about in September?   Well here are the photos.   Sandor Welsh Photography captured this gorgeous Hindu-Jewish Wedding located in a tent on the family’s property on the very day that Philly was hit with torrential rains and winds.

After the wedding, we told you the story of how Event QuipBeautiful Blooms and Leslie Rosen Catering stepped right up to the plate and did anything and everything to give this wonderful and loving couple a flawless wedding under amazing circumstances.    All the beautiful paper was created by the bride’s sister, Priya. Gorgeous. Take your time when you go through these stunning photos.  It was truly a beautiful wedding. One we will never forget!
