Even a nor’easter can’t quiet the spirits of a great party, when Eclatante and Beautiful Blooms put their hearts and minds to creating the first holiday party of the season.

Holday Party photo Collage by Mike Kehr Photography
Donna and I decided long ago to create a “fire & ice” themed holiday party — and use red & white as our colors. And it totally worked. Take a look at these amazing photos from the the cream of Philadelphia photographers who came with their cameras to help us celebrate — Marie Labbancz and Mike Kehr. We love them both very much – they are incredibly talented people who always make us look our very best.

Even though the weather forecasters were predicting heavy rains and 35 mph winds, our friends, families and colleagues were not deterred. Over 200 people came to our little piece of the planet on Liberties Walk and celebrated the kickoff of the 2009 Holiday Season. And, as if on cue, just before the party started, the winds died down and the rain, for the most part, went away.
My favorite comment came from a friend the next day: “It rained at your party? Wow, I didn’t notice!”
We were prepared, though — We had patio heaters and fireplaces and, at the last minute, installed large market umbrellas into the center of our round banquettes that we had placed outside. And we had to put a couple of the bars and food stations inside that were originally going outside. That’s it — by 6:00 pm, we were ready to great our guests.

See the little fleece blankets on the banquets. They were so cozy — kept everyone warm. After the party, we donated them to a homeless shelter.

Leila came up with the absolutely brilliant idea of having a “hot santa” as part of the photobooth and it tuned out great.
There’s Sandy — from Creative Juice Group — painting the shirt and suspenders on our Santa

Santa and the ladies from Eclatante (from L to R): Taylor, Kendall, Leila, Lorraine, Alyssa and Sarah
The food was to die for. Truly. Feast Your Eyes Catering totally brought their A Game with a hot, Brazilian spread in our office and a phenomenal cold raw bar, expertly displayed on a gorgeous ice creation in our Boutique.

Plus, a scruptious hot chocolate bar, red velvet cupcakes and WONDERFUL s’mores we toasted over patio fireplaces on the Walk.

Our guests ADORED the bars.

Especially the one with the “adult” milkshakes – they were laced with yummy liquors that warmed us from the inside out.

Since we have six individual spaces (including Tu Belleza Studio) and we couldn’t have a sound system outside (because of the weather) Elan Artists brought us two of amazing bands that kept everyone delighted. People were dancing and enjoying those great musicians all evening long. They were incredible!

Last, but NOT LEAST, Claudia Seyler of Claudia Seyler Hair and Makeup and Tu Belleza Studio created a fun “fashion show” down the Walk featuring her fabulous new makeup line called “Tu” (which we absolutely LOVE, by the way!)

So, we had a little bit of everything for everyone.
And we have so many people to thank

Let’s go for the easy answer first: It’s almost NEVER a problem to bring a gift to someone, silly.
To alleviate some of the guesswork for when you should bring a gift, and what kind of gift you should bring, here are a few ‘lil guidelines:
So, now for the next level of complication – what to bring?

Perhaps you could make blueberry muffins and give it to them in a lovely basket tied with a bow — and include a great hot chocolate mix for your hosts to enjoy the next morning.
I LOVE these little Salt and Pepper Shakers – We’ve watched them fly out the door this season.

And they're priced phenomenally well. A gift certificate to this amazing little piece of heaven would make you the best guest your hosts have ever had.
And here’s the final advice –
If you’re going to bring flowers (and that’s a lovely thing to do), then please bring the vase for them. You can pick up the most amazing flowers at the Beautiful Blooms Boutique just across from us on the Walk (but you already knew that, right?) along with a beautiful vase.

Or, of course, you can choose a different amazing vase or container at the Eclatante Boutique.

Okay, that’s my advice regarding host and hostess gifts. Have a great time!
The holidays can bring out the best in us. It’s the perfect time to step just a little outside of the box and give people unique gifts that they may not be expecting.
One of the great advantages to having a little boutique is that we only have the items that we really love. Chances are, you wouldn’t be able to find them anywhere else.
Take, for instance, this gorgeous back and white 5 x 7 frame ($35.95). And one of our new favorite things in the Boutique is the Lotus hands tealight holders ($20). They are really beautiful.

For stocking stuffers, we have totally fallen for these handmade flower brooches. Everyone who sees them loves them. People walk in the Boutique and buy them immediately — at $20, they are pretty irresistible.

And how cool is this? It’s a fruit pyramid (ornaments look pretty amazing in it, too!). It’s a great, chrome-platted spacesaver and looks very chic on a counter or a table. $24

These rose tealight holders are absolutely lovely. We have theme in light creme and bronze. People are buying them up at $16. Small wonder – they’re stunning.

As a truly elegant gift, we recommend this stunning Peacock Tray from Fringe ($55). For your people that truly appreciate beautiful things, this tray will absolutely thrill them. Likewise, the mercury glass gold apothecary jars are just gorgeous. We have them in two sizes, 13″ ($33) and 16″ ($43).

Here’s another fun stocking stuffer – these little scottie salt and pepper shakers are adorable, and incredibly priced at $10 for the pair.

Finally — our latest obsession — Totally organic, 100% bamboo robes. Not a synthetic thread to be found. So incredibly plush, you won’t want to take it off! They feature a detailed shawl collar, cuffed long sleeves, two front patch pockets and they’re extremely durable. You’ll also find them in luxury hotels and resorts. We couldn’t resist putting a few in the Boutique for the holidays! A truly wonderful price at $70.
We have them in white and in chocolate brown.

Of course, these are just a few of our favorite things. We have so many more unique, fun and beautiful things at the Boutique. You should come visit us and see it all! We located at 1031 North 3rd Street on Liberties Walk, right next to the Piazza. Parking is a piece of cake. Of course, if you already know you want something, just give us a buzz at 215.925.9911 or email us at celebrate@eclatantedesign.com, and we’ll send it out to you.
Oh, and don’t forget to come down for the Holiday Shopping Crawl here in Northern Liberties on December 19th from 11 am to 8 pm. Just about all the shops are doing something really special for you, including offering some interesting incentives that you definitely make you very very jolly! Our Boutique is going all out — as usual. We’d love to see you!

We love it when Style Me Pretty comes calling. We’ve really had a great time over the past many months sharing our goings-on with them. They’re always up for sharing new and fun things with their readers, who, apparently, just drink every drop of Style Me Pretty. And who can blame them. They don’t call it the Ultimate Wedding Blog for nothing!
It truly is an honor to be counted among the chosen few of Style Me Pretty!

What better way to kiss 2009 goodbye than by throwing this month’s fantasy New Years Eve Wedding party at the gorgeous Conservatory of Winterthur Museum and Country Estate in Winterthur, Delaware! Through these gates a magical fantasy celebration awaits featuring the colors of onyx, gold and emerald.

These magnificent photos are compliments of our good friend and photographer Marie Labbancz who beautifully captures our step-back-in-time to the days of glamour and lavishness!

As you can see, our unique table design flows seamlessly in conjunction with this venue and the outdoor scenery. We absolutely love this striking centerpiece cone Beautiful Blooms created out of gardenia leaves with a burst of extraordinarily lush, black feathers. Who doesn’t love feathers in winter?

Our table was decorated with cut crystal candleholders and gold pillar candles. We’re crazy about how the linens coordinate beautifully with the rims of each plate and cup, then brought together with perfect napkin rings! Then, of course, the ultimate last touch with the feather placed inside each napkin.

Beautiful Blooms really outdid themselves with this unique bridal bouquet made out of green cymbidium orchids, green prada carnations and black feathers.

This absolutely stunning boutonniere was made of orchids and black feathers.

The fabulous bridal gown designed by Matthew Christopher and provided to us by Gabriella New York Bridal Salon (we love them!) is reminiscent of the glamorous and lavish styles of the 1920s and 30s – the era of gorgeous Hollywood starlets and incredibly extravagant parties. Your eyes immediately follow the feather details along the back and length of the gown unveiling its sensational drama, softness and femininity. Our model wears pearls to accentuate the vintage qualities and period style of this gown.

Claudia Seyler did the hairstyling and makeup for our bride capturing the essence of this time period by using pearl accents and bright red lipstick.

We hope you enjoyed our 2009 color stories as much as we enjoyed creating them and sharing them with you Stay tuned for our January color story when we bring you our first beautiful surprise for 2010!
…is easily accomplished if you have the right things at your fingertips.
It doesn’t have to be an expensive and drawn out ordeal to create a great holiday table when you’ve got friends and family coming over for dinner. Just a few interesting elements on your table will give you all the charm you need. Marie Labbancz brought a camera to our little Boutique on her last visit. She loved the table we set up for the holidays, which we’d created from some of our favorite little items we have in our Boutique, so we thought we’d share the photos with you.

First, we love these very cool red lace cutout placemats! They’re actually made out of thick felt and they look amazing on a simple white tablecloth. And they’re only $9 each (or four for $30). We also have fun white lace beverage coasters — four for $6.00.

I think placing monogrammed candles at each placesetting, then giving them as gifts to your guests is a really thoughtful and memorable thing to do. Plus, they smell wonderful! They’re $12.00 each and people just love them!

Again, we love to show off our napkin rings. We have a large variety to choose from. For this particular table, we’re using the Bay Leaf Napkin Rings because they’re perfect for the holidays. $44 for a set of four.

We have a really fun, beautiful and inexpensive way of displaying votives on your table or all over your home. Our gold lace votive holders are just perfect. They also come in silver, if that suits your decor better. They’re only $7.50 each and will stay in shape year after year.

One of my very favorite things in the Boutique right now is this set of Dove salt and pepper shakers. They are absolutely beautiful! And extremely well priced at $30 for the pair. They would also make a fantastic hostess gift or holiday present or housewarming gift.

Another absolutely beautiful way to display a simple tealight candle is within one of our rose tealight holders. We’re displaying the creme colored one on our holiday table now, but we’re also in love with the copper rose tealight holder, which we used for Thanksgiving.

If you’d like a different way of identifying seats for your guests, we suggest these adorable paper snowflakes that slip right onto your glassware. A set of six is only $9! (We have butterflies, too, for an adorable springtime table.)

Personally, I really like almost any alternative to the traditional large centerpiece. For our display holiday table we chose these mini-handblown vases and placed little cuttings from a berry bush inside each one. I think it’s lovely, personal and takes up very little room. A set of five mini-handblown vases is only $25.00.

Isn’t it nice when your guests bring wine? And it’s even nicer when it arrives in a Gold Hatch Wine bag that you can use over and over when you go out to your favorite BYOB. Include a lovely resin orchid bottle stopper and you have a really perfect hostess gift. The wine bag is $10 and the winestopper is only $13.50 and come in an array of different colors and flowers. There’s not a hostess in the world who wouldn’t love it.

And, as always, we LOVE our Ana candles. A pair of red striped tapers is only $20. We placed them inside two of our colored glass bud vases — a set of five is only $25.00.

So, there you have it. An unusual, tasteful and fun holiday table that everyone will rave about and won’t dip into your holiday present budget!
We have lots of other things for decorating or gifts of course. if you see something here you want us to send to you, just call 215.925.9911 or email celebrate@eclatantedesign.com, and we’ll get it right out to you. Or feel free to come down to the Boutique. We’re located at the amazing Liberties Walk at 1031 North 3rd Street – parking is a breeze. We’ve been having such a great time finding things you might just love to give as gifts or take home for yourself.
Have a great time everyone!
Well, here’s the final episode to Kelly & Liam’s amazing wedding on the beach in Bethany, Delaware. There so much to tell. But the photos by Amy Deputy do such an incredible job of giving you the beauty of evening.
After the ceremony (see Kelly & Liam, Part 2), the guests were invited to step over to the cocktail are on the beach. Who could resist?

The reception took place inside an impeccably constructed tent on the sand by The Party Center. We had to pay extremely close attention to the tide tables — there was a storm out there somewhere and their wedding was on the night of the high tide. We weren’t quite sure until the construction was complete exactly what configuration would best suit the shape of the beach on that day. Further, each piece of the tent had to be carefully transported in from the public access point two miles down the beach via Hummers. It was quite the process!
The dinner tables were stunning. We brought in each carefully chosen element on every table crate-by-crate down the long narrow boardwalk leading to the beach where the reception tent was constructed. Each table eventually became an understated, yet very beautiful, setting for a shared meal among friends and family – dinner was served family style. There were no large centerpieces; rather the table was colorfully decorated in small arrangements of delphinium orchids and pillar candles placed on beautiful teal seaglass — Expertly created by Beautiful Blooms (as always).

Dinner was served family style by the family’s long-time friend, favorite caterer and restaurateur, Jamie Weist — owner of Chef Du Jour Catering. Jamie executed a beautiful and scrumptious presentation. The guests raved all evening long about the food. It was wonderful!

There was a surprise in store for the guests after Kelly & Liam’s first dance. Waiting outside the tent was an amazing Irish Dance team who charmed everyone in the room. They were absolutely incredible to watch!

Meanwhile, Amy Deputy had one of the best photo booths set up that we’ve encountered. Everyone took a turn and had a blast.

I absolutely love these photos of Amy and Kelly!

I got such a kick out of this -- even the security guard had fun!

As the night was drawing to a close, we had just one more surprise in store for everyone who came to celebrate Kelly & Liams incredible wedding.
Fireworks straight ahead.

It was a truly great wedding. It was hard to say goodnight.

It was a truly enchanting night. We see an amazing future of love and laughter in the lives of these two extraordinary people.
Welcome back to Kelly & Liam’s wedding. Hope you enjoyed Part 1. This Part 2 is about their very special Quaker ceremony on the private beach at her mother’s summer home in Bethany Beach, Delaware. Only these amazing photos by Amy Deputy can even begin to tell the story of how beautiful and romantic the ceremony and its setting were. Amy’s genius is in capturing the magic in every moment.

When guests arrived they were offered these refreshing lemon/limeaid beverages

Guests were then invited down the lovely boardwalk accented beautifully with blue ribbon and glass lanterns

Guests were offered seats in the lovely Quaker Meeting House setting we created on the beach for Kelly & Liam's wedding ceremony
In case you don’t know, a Quaker ceremony is a bit different than a typical wedding ceremony. The guests will gather for silent worship. Then, as they may be inspired to do, individual guests may stand and give their own messages to the couple and the other guests. Afterwards, the couple signs the marriage license and the guests are invited to do the same. This certificate becomes the couple’s treasured possession.
At Kelly & Liam’s wedding, the couple and their immediate family members sat under an absolutely gorgeous structure created by Beautiful Blooms that perfectly reflected the stunning setting. The words spoken by many of the guests – some of which in a truly melodic Irish brogue — were incredibly warm and loving. It was, in all ways, one of the most beautiful ceremonies I have ever seen.

After the ceremony, the guests were welcomed into the cocktail hour on the beach

Really nothing like a cocktail hour on the beach!!

We had these absolutely perfect pinwheels created to serve as the seating cards for the guests. Guests just LOVED them!
While the guests enjoyed their cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, Kelly & Liam spent some time basking in their first moments and husband and wife.

There is one more amazing part left to show you about Kelly & Liam’s wedding. The wedding reception was as much fun as it was gorgeous. Just wait!
