The wonderful scents of Spring!

Wednesday, April 14th, 2010

Our love of spring continues with our favorite candles of all time.   People adore these candles – and we couldn’t agree more.  They smell absolutely, but subtly, delicious.   We have to reorder and restock these candles more often than almost anything else in the Boutique, just to keep up.   But we don’t mind.   We’re happy to share our discovery.

Voluspa was founded in 1999 by Troy and Traci Arntsen, both of whom have a great passion for the art of fragrance.

Heather Fowler took this great photos the of the Voluspa candles in the Boutique so we could share them with you.   Thank you so much, Heather!!

We’re all very excited (but not at all surprised) that Marisa & Chris’s wedding was picked up so quickly by one of the region’s most well-read and respected wedding magazines!

We have arrived! (Part II)

Friday, May 15th, 2009

So, a few weeks ago, after much of the construction was done, my daughter, Meaghan came to spend the day helping us start putting things on shelves.   She took this picture of Chris (artist extraordinnaire) of Wish Painting as he created the amazing artwork along our “Magic Wall.”

We’ve come a long way since then!

Take a look at the wonderful photos our friend Marie Labbancz took of our display area and office — these areas flank our beautiful little boutique

Here is the display area –

This is the wall of gorgeous place settings from Party Rentals, LTD and absolutely beautiful linens from Total Table

And here’s the magic wall – with the amazing flat screen monitors that run Eclatante’s events 24/7

See Chris’s incredible artwork?   WE LOVE HIM!

And finally, here is where we meet with our team and the brainstorming happens!!

Thanks so much for taking a look at our new digs!   We very excited to be here!

When Martha calls…

Sunday, April 12th, 2009

We answer!!

Martha Stewart’s much-beloved wedding site asked us to provide them with photos (by Sandor Welsh Photography) of one of our VERY FAVORITE weddings.

Sonya & Michael’s wedding was incredibly rich with beautiful Hindu and Jewish traditions and as much familial love as we’ve ever seen.    The editors at Martha Stewart saw in this truly beautiful wedding all that we loved and shared it with their zillions world-wide readers.

Congrats Sonya & Michael!

It’s nice to be loved.

NOVEMBER COLOR STORY

Monday, November 24th, 2008

Eclatante Event Design and Beautiful Blooms announce a great new joint project – monthly color stories.

And the first in line is …

November Color Story

Plum (and Turquoise and Green) Crazy

There’s no use fighting it with pastels – November was created for great rich and interesting colors.   And lately, we’ve been craving plums.   So Eclatante imagined a wonderful color palette and designed a fantasy table party perfectly suited for a cool and brilliant November celebration.

After creating our color palette,

we came up with our inspiration board:

Once we lined up the perfect home for our photo shoot – the classically modern F.U.E.L. House in Philadelphia — Eclatante could start the design process in earnest.

Our first idea was to design widthwise table runners to be made out of paper.   Our dear and talented friends at Two Paper Dolls created these awesome paisley table runners (with color-opposing table numbers) that were perfectly matched with the gorgeous plum linens we found at Wild Flower Linens.    We found just the right coordinating glass chargers and tinted flutes at Party Rentals Ltd.    The masters at VU-Events flawlessly executed our drapery and lighting design.

Finally, Beautiful Blooms’ amazing floral design: The centerpiece of the table is a vintage green glass container with a dome design of sterling roses intertwined with a cage of plum calla lilies. Green glass rectangle vases are filled with a pave of purple anemones and aqua glass bud vases filled with stems of magenta phalenopsis orchids.   Every napkin is accented with a single orchid bloom.

We were thrilled when Feastivities came up with the perfect entrée for a fabulous November party — pan-seared duck breast with olives, braised plum tomatoes and grilled asparagus.  YUM.

And the whole thing was expertly captured by the amazing photographer – Marie Labbancz.   She is such a genius!

Roseann & Paal (Part 1)

Thursday, November 20th, 2008

I’m taking a page from Marie Labbancz’s playbook and presenting this absolutely incredible wedding in stages.    Marie did a phenomenal job shooting this wedding.   The couple was so beautiful, so in love and just a BLAST to work with.  We had a great year putting this wedding together with them.  And before the night was up, we learned that their friends and family were every bit as much fun as they are!   Truly — a great time was had by all!

Before we get into the details, I want you to see what the happiest woman alive looks like:

So, here’s how it all started.   Beautiful Elum invitations — have you ever touched one of these invitations? They are amazing,   The paper is just incredible.

We had really cool booklets created for the out-of-towners with maps with all the fun wedding weekend locations.  And of course, Eclatante’s famous wedding weekend itinerary (which is always the source of some humor!) were handed out to the wedding party.

Now, the dress — well, getting dressed anyway.   Roseann had a team of people who  lovingly helped her prepare for her fabulous day.  Along with her mom (I so miss Rosemary!), there was Cindi from The Bridal Garden who helped Roseann step into her gown and the amazing Claudia Seyler whose hair & makeup artistry was nothing short of gorgeous.  Everything was perfect – including the magnificent Monique Lhuillier gown with a spectacular over-skirt for the classic and beautifully traditional ceremony to be removed once the couple arrived at the very hip F.U.E.L. House.

Did I mention the shoes?   AWESOME copper Manolo Blahniks that Roseann pulled out of their box and stared at every day for months.

Roseann was blessed to be surrounded by a truly wonderful mom, fantastic friends and a team of people who just adore her!   The start of a perfect day began.

Of course, the rain was simply unreal that day.   But you will see that the rain couldn’t put a dent in this amazing day.  Stay tuned for more of Roseann & Paal.

Sonya & Michael

Wednesday, November 5th, 2008

Remember our hurricane wedding we wrote about in September?   Well here are the photos.   Sandor Welsh Photography captured this gorgeous Hindu-Jewish Wedding located in a tent on the family’s property on the very day that Philly was hit with torrential rains and winds.

After the wedding, we told you the story of how Event QuipBeautiful Blooms and Leslie Rosen Catering stepped right up to the plate and did anything and everything to give this wonderful and loving couple a flawless wedding under amazing circumstances.    All the beautiful paper was created by the bride’s sister, Priya. Gorgeous. Take your time when you go through these stunning photos.  It was truly a beautiful wedding. One we will never forget!

Peiti & David

Tuesday, October 28th, 2008

The weddings this year have been so beautiful and interesting, and this one is no exception.   Along with having some very unique components — we also had some unique challenges.    But Oh! What a night!   Peiti and David combined a beautiful American ceremony in the Westin Hotel Ballroom in Philadelphia with a colorful and gorgeous Korean ceremony later during the reception.   What a transformation when on in that room!

Congratulations to the Westin, to Beautiful Blooms and CTO Artists for doing everything imaginable to create this amazing wedding for Peiti & David!  And thank you Laura & Paul at Laura Eaton Photography  for these absolutely gorgeous photos!!!

Heather & Ben

Sunday, October 12th, 2008

We had an amazing experience with this wonderful couple.    The whole day was Pure Joy from one minute to the next!    Here’s just a tiny taste of the day:   there was a Chuppah in the historic and beautiful Christ Church in Old City, then a salsa band performed the Hora at the reception at the Pennsylvania Acadamy of the Fine Arts.

A  gorgeous, fun-loving couple, delightful families, great friends, beautiful colors and a phenomenal day – who could ask for more?

Scott Lewis did a fantastic job shooting this wedding– and was a dream to work with! Great job, Scott!

Jessica & Camilo

Sunday, September 28th, 2008

The beautiful daughter of two of our very best friends got married at Glen Foerd last Saturday.  Jessica’s parents live here, but  Jessica & Camilo both live in California. Jessica is a writer on “My Name is Earl”; Camilo is in medical school.   Eclatante was honored to help out with this wedding — and one of the best things about it was how hilarious the toasts were!!!!

Kelly Vasimi was the terrific photographer who captured the love these two amazing people have (and was a pure joy to work with!).   It was a drop-dead gorgeous day and we all had a great time!!!

CONGRATULATIONS JESSICA & CAMILO!!!   WE LOVE YOU!!

There was a little girl…

Heather & Ben,  a very cool couple we’ve been working with to plan their wedding this fall sent out these adorable Save the Dates.   I fell completely in love with the artwork and everything else I saw on the artist’s website.  The artist is Kris Chau and her studio is located on South Rosewood in Old City.   Check out her website:  http://www.krischau.com.  Her amazing work will keep you mezmerized for hours!

Victoria & Jamie in The Knot

Sunday, July 20th, 2008

HAPPY FIRST ANNIVERSARY, VICTORIA & JAMIE!

Victoria & Jamie’s wedding took place a little over a year ago on her family’s drop-dead gorgeous restored farmhouse situated on acres of rolling green hills.    There simply is no better setting for a wedding anywhere.   Victoria’s vision for her wedding was inspired by the designs of Kelly Wearstler — elegant, minimalist and utterly chic.     Add in this totally striking couple and you have an irresistible wedding for The Knot.

The scrumptious food, created by Callahan Catering was impeccably presented.  The absolutely beautiful photography is by none other than the well-known Barnaby Draper.   And Philadelphia’s own Dreamtime did a fantastic job — as usual.   Awesome band for a dancing crowd!

If you go into Eclatante’s Extraordinary Events page and click on “Dream Chic at Home,” you’ll get to see more of this stunning affair.  So worth the extra clicks.

By the way, Victoria has her own fashion line known as Proxima.   Of course it is fabulous — stylish, sexy and fun — just like Victoria!

Oh, and, if you want to get a better look at the farmhouse and the surrounding property where this all took place, take a look at these photos from the Summer 2008 issue of Town & Country Living (Montgomery County) featuring the Schriver’s beautiful home.   See what I mean???   Unbelievable!

This one definitely goes in “the book.”

I’m sure you can see how Victoria’s incredible sense of style and this gorgeous setting came together as the backdrop for a wedding no one will ever forget.   There was even a beautiful full moon illuminating the pond and hovering over the tent.   [Deep sigh]   What a night.
